U2 MBC™

PTG mobile-bearing cruciate-retaining

The U2 Knee™ System, designed by the UNITED ORTHOPEDIC, is a complete range of 1st line treatment PTGs: Fixed and mobile CR, fixed and mobile PS and PSA revision with constrained insert.

The fixed tibial baseplate is commonly used in fixed cruciate-retaining (U2 CMA™) and posterior stabilised (U2 PS™) fixed inserts.

The mobile tibial baseplate is commonly used in cruciate-retaining (U2 MBC™) and posterior stabilised (U2 MB™) mobile inserts

Description

The PTG U2 MBC™ is a cruciate-retaining rotating femoral prosthesis with a rotating ultra-congruent insert.

The cruciate-retaining femur has a multi-radius design with a “patella friendly” trochlear groove that promotes flexion and stability.

CR femur

  • Section7 right and left sizes
  • CrCoMo cementing version
  • Cement-free version with a metal ball coating bed
  • Distal and posterior thicknesses of 9 mm

  • Multi-radius design
  • The deep and wide trochlear groove promotes stable patellar rolling of a natural or prosthetic patella
  • 0° posterior cut
  • 5° anterior cut

Rotating tibia

  • Rotating tibia with pin for better constraint distribution
  • 6 symmetrical sizes
  • Cementing CrCO
  • Pin length is 26 to 34 depending on size
  • Possibility of retaining or sacrificing PCL
  • Mirror polished surface to reduce wear

Ultra-congruent rotating insert

  • 5° posterior slope induced in the insert
  • Thickness: 9, 11, 13, 15 and 18 mm
  • Ultra-congruent UHMWPE
    • Promotes stability and limits counterintuitive movement
    • Increases contact area and reduces PE wear
  • Stop improves M/L stability and allows 4.5° hyperflexion, thereby controlling the backward movement of the posterior condyles
  • Pinned for better constraint distribution

Patella
